**Help Desk Staff CANNOT give Legal Advice**

The Help Desk is designed to assist self-represented (pro-se) litigants, and is located in the main lobby of the Taos County Courthouse. Court employees can provide some forms, general procedural information, and review filing for content completeness, during the limited hours of operation.

Please be aware the Help Desk may not have a form for every purpose, or an answer for every situation, and individuals may still need to seek additional legal services from an attorney.

Court Employees CANNOT give legal advice. “Legal advice” is explaining the law to you, interpreting how the law may apply to your case, or instructing you how to proceed with your case.

Other services available at the Dispute Resolution Center include two public access computers providing links to the NM Courts webpage, NM Interactive Legal Forms, DOD Records Request, Juror Questionnaire, and the Child Support Worksheet. These computers DO NOT have internet access for any other purposes. The Dispute Resolution Center also has a semi-private conference room, where individuals can meet with an attorney for a free brief legal consultation. Please call in advance for dates and times when an attorney will be available; appointments will be limited and it is recommended to sign-up in advance.

Public Computers are available from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Dispute Resolution Center. Computers can be used for:

  • NM Courts Webpage
  • NM Interactive Legal Forms
  • Department of Defense Records Request
  • Juror Questionnaire
  • Child Support Worksheet
